Nein, das ist kein Scherz und hier ist auch nicht von virtuellen computerviren die Rede. Die US-amerikanische Firma AgION stellt Schutzbeläge für Handys her, die das Wachstum von Pilzen, Mikroorganismen und anderen lästigen Begleitern verhindert:

In punkto Ausstattung liegt das Gerät mit einer 2 Megapixel-Kamera, Freisprechfunktion + Lautsprecher, GPS-Modul, einem 262.000 Farben Display, Bluetooth, USB, MP3-Player und Text-to-Speech im gehobenen Standardbereiche.
Doch frage ich mich allen Ernstes, wer jemals Probleme mit Pilzen und Mikroben auf dem Handy hatte. Zur Not kann man das Gerät doch einfach mit einem Putzmittel oder einem Desinfektionsmittel abwaschen.
Es mag sein, dass das i880 für Menschen in Laboren, Kliniken etc. eine Erleichterung darstellt – für die breite Masse halte ich diese Neuerung aber offen gestanden für Unsinn …
